Design Size FAQ

What size will my embroidery be?

We’ve got standard sizes for each placement to make your design look great and stitch smoothly. You’ll pick a size on the form, and we’ll tweak it slightly if needed to fit your item perfectly. Here’s the rundown:

Left Chest (shirts, polos, jackets)
  • Small: About 3.5" wide x 2" high (think a logo or initials)

  • Medium: About 4" wide x 3" high (a bit bigger, still neat)

Center Chest (shirts, hoodies)
  • Medium: About 6" wide x 4" high (good for bold logos)

  • Large: About 8" wide x 6" high (stands out on bigger items)

Back (jackets, hoodies, shirts)
  • Small: About 4" wide x 2" high (like a tagline near the collar)

  • Full Back: About 10" wide x 12" high (big designs, like a team crest)

Sleeve (shirts, jackets)
  • Small: About 3" wide x 1.5" high (perfect for a small graphic)

Hat Front (caps)
  • Medium: About 4" wide x 2" high (fits most cap fronts)

Custom Sizes
Need something else? Pick “Custom” on the form and tell us what you want (e.g., “5" x 3"”). We’ll make it work if it fits the item!

Why these sizes?
They’re based on what looks balanced and stitches well. Small designs fit lightweight fabrics; bigger ones need sturdier stuff. Our machines have limits too (like a 10" x 12" max for full-back designs), so these keep everything doable.

Can I see the size before you stitch?
We’ll confirm the final size with you when we review your order or quote. If your design needs adjusting (e.g., to avoid seams), we’ll let you know.

What if I don’t know what size to pick?
No worries! Choose what feels right, or leave it blank—we’ll suggest a size based on your item and design. Most customers go with “Small” or “Medium” for shirts and hats.
